Snap on Thursday introduced a new version of its Spectacle glasses, which let you add immersive augmented reality effects to what you see through the lenses.

A demo on Snap's website shows the fourth-generation Spectacles placing colorful shapes and words in front of you while you see the real world. There's one caveat to these impressive glasses, though: They're not for sale.
Snap says it is accepting applications from creators who want to “push the boundaries of immersive AR experiences.”
The AR glasses feature dual 3D waveguide displays and a 26.3-degree diagonal field of view, with an auto-adjustable display that can reach up to 2,000 nits of brightness, both indoors and out. The glasses have a touchpad, dual RGB cameras, four microphones and weigh 134 grams, which The Verge reports is double the weight of the previous Spectacle glasses.
