“Snowfall” writer Jeanine Daniels is the first recipient of the Starz #TakeTheLead Award. Kathryn Busby, President of Original Programming for Starz, will present Daniels with the award during The Humanitas Prizes Awards Show and Toast on Sept. 12 at Avalon Hollywood.
The award was created through the streaming platform's '#TakeTheLead' initiative to amplify stories by, about and for women and underrepresented audiences. The award 'recognizes a writer who has completed the Humanitas New Voices Fellowship and has demonstrated a commitment to improving representation through their stories.'
Daniels was a 2019 New Voices Fellow and was mentored by Erika Kennair, Head of Scripted, US and Canada at The Mediapro Studio and a member of the Humanitas Board of Directors. In addition to writing and co-producing “Snowfall,” Daniels is currently overseeing “P-Valley.” Her portfolio includes projects for Netflix, Apple, HBO Max, OWN, BET, and TVOne.
