Despite Counter-Strike 2 being out for almost a year now, complaining about it is still popular. Former CS:GO and current VALORANT pro ScreaM streamed the game on May 25th and commented on its movement.

Was ScreaM good at CS:GO?

ScreaM held a short stream of some FACEIT matches, one of which was played on Dust2. After dying on A bombsite, the player who was dubbed a "headshot machine" at the time went on a short rant about CS2's movement, stating that something was wrong with it and that he was having trouble adjusting to it.

“The movement in this game is so weird, bro. […] It’s more of a movement problem. I feel like I’m sliding when I move, man. It doesn’t stop. In CS:GO, when you move, it stops, you know? […] That’s what I feel, when you move, there’s this little thing that moves more than you want it to,” ScreaM said. In the same clip, he compared the movement in CS2 to moving on snow.

The Belgian is not alone in his opinion. Players have already voiced similar complaints, especially after the game's release in September last year. Since then, however, Valve has addressed movement issues with patches. Furthermore, players admitted that this difference in movement was likely the result of the release of CS2, where almost everything was polished or adjusted. Although the movement did not officially change compared to CS:GO, the community experienced a Mandela effect regarding the movement, assuming that it somehow did.
