One type of bag often isn’t enough for modern life. Sometimes, too much weight can get in the way of backpacks, and other days, a briefcase is just too bulky to carry. Luckily, the Solo Duane Hybrid Briefcase Backpack can do everything you need and more. With three different travel configurations that are all equally comfortable, it’s the Transformer of briefcases. Whether you use the detachable shoulder strap, the briefcase handle, or the chest straps that stow away in a compartment, the Solo Duane can go anywhere and do anything. That said, it does have a bit of a lack of storage space, but given its affordable price point, we found it to be an issue that was easily overlooked.

The Solo Duane is a workhorse bag that’s meant to get the job done, and that doesn’t mean it’s going to win you any beauty contests. It’s a very simple black bag with a compact body that easily fits in a roof rack, backseat, or under a table.

The versatility of the Solo Duane is its big selling point. The ability to easily switch between a detachable messenger-style shoulder strap, a top-handle briefcase, or a stowable chest pack is a boon. What we like about the Solo Briefcase is that the hooks and straps are out of sight when not needed. The chest straps stow away in the back compartment, while the shoulder strap is completely removable.
