On June 20, Sony announced that it would be ending its Sony Rewards program at the end of the year. Current members have until December 31 to redeem any remaining reward points.

The Sony Rewards program has been around since 2017, allowing users to earn points by purchasing various Sony products, which they could later redeem for electronics, gift cards, and most importantly, PSN store credit.
The reaction to this news has been lukewarm. Many players initially didn't even know the service existed, while those who did were not surprised at all.
"Doesn't matter. They didn't let you redeem your reward points for years until they decided to let your points 'expire' anyway. Biggest middle finger from Sony to their customers," wrote one X (formerly Twitter) user.
