Google recently unveiled LaMDA, an experimental model that the company claims can expand the capabilities of its conversational AI assistants and enable more natural conversations. LaMDA aims to eventually be able to converse normally about almost anything without any prior training.

“I estimate that within the next 12 months, users will be exposed to and acclimated to these new, more emotional voices,” said James Kaplan, CEO of MeetKai, an AI-powered virtual voice assistant and search engine, in an email interview.
