Argentine filmmaker Gastón Solnicki is preparing his latest feature film, “The Souffleur,” which he will present at the Venice Gap Financing Market, which runs from August 30 to September 1.

The film tells the story of Lucius Glantz, an American who has run the same international hotel in Vienna for 30 years. When he discovers one day that the venerable building is to be sold and demolished, he embarks on a mission to stop its destruction. He goes head-to-head with an arrogant Argentinian real estate agent. As the conflict between them escalates, the hotel’s signature soufflé mysteriously stops rising, leaving Glantz facing the prospect of the end of everything he holds dear.

“The Souffleur” is directed by Solnicki from a script he co-wrote with Julia Niemann. The film is produced by Gabriele Kranzelbinder and Eugenio Fernández Abril for Vienna-based Little Magnet Films, Primo and Solnicki’s Argentinian production company Filmy Wiktora.
