If you're looking to take a break from the seriously soulful titles released this year, like Elden Ring's DLC Shadow of the Erdtree and Flintlock, then Soulframe Preludes is the perfect relaxing experience – and it's almost here.
Soulframe Preludes: TennoCon 2024 Gameplay
On July 20, developers Digital Extremes announced at Tennocon 2024 that the game would finally be available to all players this fall, allowing everyone to explore the mysterious world of Midrath.
Over the years, the soulslike genre has developed a reputation for being unforgiving, something the team at Digital Extremes seems all too aware of. They even go so far as to say that Soulframe Preludes isn’t a soulslike at all, but “a casual take on a Souls game,” remedying this by having multiple ancestors living in a city space called Nightfold. The developer has also called it a game where “everyone gets a redemption arc,” making it easier for new players to get into the gameplay.
During the first gameplay reveal, they focused on the ancestors, such as Verminia, the rat witch who would help the players on their journey. The players can visit them at any time to improve their skills and become stronger to face their enemies.
