Early in the game you are tasked with crafting your very first wooden spear. This spear will serve as your primary weapon for a while and has all the functions of the other weapons you can craft later.

Keep in mind that as brutal as some of them look, tools like axes, pickaxes, and the really brutal looking scythe cannot be used as weapons. They will do some damage if you get caught off guard and need a weapon in a pinch, but none of them have access to the primary combat functions of real weapons.
