When the game released on September 3, 2024, players were surprised by the price, with some bundles costing as much as $90 USD. This immediately led to a backlash from the community, with comparisons to Valorant being made within hours of the game's release, with many players vowing to boycott purchases until they saw more reasonable prices.
In a recent Discord announcement, the game's director acknowledged the misstep. "We made a move that we thought would best prepare us to support the game," the director explained. "It turns out we went a little too high, so we're adjusting to better align with your feedback."
In response to player outrage, Mountaintop Studios has reduced the prices of several items by between 17% and 25%. Notable discounts include the Cryo Kinesis Masterpiece Bundle, which has dropped from 9,000 SP to 7,000 SP, and the Medusa Prestige Bundle, which has dropped from 4,500 SP to 3,400 SP.
