After years of waiting in disappointment, Spotify users are now approaching most leaks and speculation about Spotify lossless audio with studied skepticism. And who can blame them? It’s been three years since it was announced and there’s been little to no word on a firm release date! So when there are hints of its existence, we can at least remind ourselves that it’s not a matter of if it will ever happen, but when.
Spotify vs Apple Music – Does Lossless Matter?
Below, the latest leaks tell us what's happening with Spotify's lossless audio, why the feature matters, and whether or not you should put too much hope in it.
For Spotify, lossless audio quality has always been the elephant in the room. Despite all the UI and connectivity features, it’s almost embarrassing not to have lossless audio when most music streaming services like Tidal, Apple Music, Amazon Music all have it.
Many who pay for an additional service like Apple Music to access lossless audio may find themselves losing the patience and money to spend on two streaming services every month. So it’s high time Spotify made the changes. If the leaked UI elements are any indication, Spotify’s Lossless feature could not only be in the works but (fingers crossed) could also arrive very soon. But take everything with a grain of salt.
