Spotify has started testing a new subscription plan called Spotify Plus, which keeps ads visible but also lets you skip songs for less than the $10 Premium plan.
What to Test in Your Spotify Ad Campaigns
Not everyone wants to pay $9.99 a month for Premium, and the free plan limits the number of songs you can skip, but what about a cheaper plan with unlimited skips? Could that be something that could convert free users into paying subscribers? This is what Spotify is looking to test with its pilot for Spotify Plus.
Spotify’s free plan has a few caveats, given that it’s free. The most notable of these is that you can only skip six songs per hour. It’s also limited to shuffling through albums and playlists.
Spotify Plus removes both restrictions, letting you choose which songs you want to listen to and skip tracks as often as you like.
