It’s important to improve your skills as you grow your pastoral farm, but even improving has its own limitations. Stardew Valley has a Mastery system, and this guide will show you how to unlock masteries.
A Quick Guide to Mastering Stardew Valley
Not only can you upgrade your house in Stardew Valley, but you can also upgrade your skills. You can unlock Masteries by reaching the maximum level (10) in at least one available skill. The skills you can level up are Combat, Mining, Fishing, Foraging, and Farming. Once you reach level 10, you can grab Mastery points by accessing the secret door in Cindersap Forest below Leah's Cottage.

Cindersnap Forest is located on the southernmost island on the map, below Leah's Cottage. Within Cindersnap Forest, you'll see a hill with a door carved into it. You can always see this door, but you can't earn Mastery points until you reach level 10 in at least one skill. Even then, you can't redeem Mastery points until you level up all five Skills.
