Rocket League seasons exist to mark the release of major content updates and to reset the rankings so players can recalibrate their skill ratings. The end date of one season usually aligns with the start date of the next.

Rocket League seasons also come with new patches, filled with balance changes, bug fixes, and most importantly, new cosmetics. Rocket League wouldn’t be as colorful as it is without fun and innovative cosmetics, making each season a chance for collectors to grow their collections.
Before going free-to-play in late 2020, Rocket League had 14 seasons under its belt. Psyonix has reset the count, starting from scratch to make the game feel fresher for any players who might be trying Rocket League for the first time.
Rocket League's 15th season is expected to begin on June 5, 2024. Developer Psyonix typically launches a new season immediately following the conclusion of the previous season. Season 14 will conclude on that date.
