Start Windows in Safe Mode with MSCONFIG
Sometimes it is necessary to start Windows in Safe Mode to properly troubleshoot a problem. Normally you do this through the Startup Settings menu (Windows 11/10/8) or the Advanced Boot Options menu (Windows 7/Vista/XP). However, depending on the problem you are experiencing, it may be easier to have Windows automatically start in Safe Mode.
Follow these instructions to configure Windows to immediately restart in Safe Mode. You do this by making changes to the System Configuration utility, usually called MSConfig.
In Windows 11, Windows 10, and Windows 8, right-click or press and hold the Start button or use the keyboard shortcut WIN + X to activate the Power User Menu. Then choose Run.
