Against all odds (and controversy), Stellar Blade hack has blasted its way through the competition to take the top spot in the April 2024 sales report, detailed by Circana. As Shift Up’s first-ever action-RPG, there’s plenty to celebrate as the numbers roll in and heroine Eve takes her place on the world stage.
Stellar Blade Dominates April 2024 Sales Charts
Despite only releasing during the last weekend of April, Stellar Blade still outsold all of the competition, propelling Shift Up's first console IP to the #1 spot for overall dollar sales (all platforms), as well as being the best-selling premium game for PlayStation in April. Additionally, it was the only new release in April to chart on the premium list.
That puts it above games like Dragon's Dogma 2, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, MLB: The Show '24, FPS heavyweights like Helldivers 2 and Call of Duty: MW3, and the surprise resurrections of Fallout 4 and Fallout 76. Bethesda's majority post-apocalyptic RPG portfolio saw massive sales increases following Amazon Prime's Fallout series.
In addition to being the best-selling game in April, Stellar Blade is also the 16th best-selling game of the year so far. Considering the amount of competition on that front, that's certainly nothing to scoff at.
