To get started, you’ll need to boot from a Windows 7 installation disc or flash drive. If you’re booting from a disc, look for the message Press any key to boot from CD or DVD or a similar message and make sure you do that.

If you pay close attention, you may see a Windows Loading Files screen. If you see that, or an Install Windows screen, or a System Recovery Options screen, then you are in good shape and can proceed to the next step.
