When Stephanie Cummings started doing odd jobs at people's homes to earn extra money four years ago, she had no idea that the concept would form the core of the technology company she now runs.

Cummings founded Please Assist Me in 2018 with her husband, Rashad Cummings, after feeling like there was no solution to managing a household. Please Assist Me is a technology platform that connects people with trusted assistants to help them manage everyday chores and tasks.
"I knew that technology could be a solution to a lot of the problems that people were facing in their homes," Cummings told Lifewire in a video interview. "That was kind of what made me think, wow, a lot of people are saying there are a lot of players in the home space, but there really isn't anyone out there that's offering a solution that can help you manage everything in an efficient way."
Trained assistants on the Please Assist Me platform connect with users to perform tasks like grocery shopping, cleaning, laundry, or anything else they need around the house. Please Assist Me is currently operational in Washington, DC, in select apartment complexes.
