Despite Instagram's exponential popularity, Apple's tablet has thus far been left behind, and it doesn't look like that will change anytime soon.
Why Instagram Doesn't Have an iPad App
According to PhoneArena, when asked if an iPad app would happen, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri shot down the idea. He reasoned that while an iPad app would be “nice,” the company has too many other pressing priorities and not enough people to execute them all.
To some extent, it's understandable, since Instagram has always prioritized smartphones as a platform for its app. In fact, it's mostly smartphone-exclusive. You can't even create new posts from your computer; they have to be from the phone app (though Instagram did begin testing a feature that lets you post from your computer this past spring, according to PhoneArena).
Why then, even though you could argue that the iPad is a more suitable device for this service than a desktop or laptop, is it still left out in the cold?
