OTK (One True King), a streaming organization founded by popular stars like Asmongold, Sodapoppin, and many more, held its annual Games Expo on June 4. A lot of streamers, including Lirik, watched and streamed the event live on their channels, where the controversial comment first surfaced. During the Dev for Hire segment of the event, Lirik questioned why Sean Wissler, a designer with 21 years of experience, was on stage and suggested that the “boomer” should try LinkedIn.
"21 years old?! Motherfucker, why are you here? The other guy just graduated. Go the f**k back to LinkedIn," Lirik said on-stream. However, the Twitch star's comments did not sit well with viewers, many of whom were quick to agree that streamers have no idea what a real job, or a job search, looks like. Several other Reddit commenters also questioned what warranted such venomous comments from a man trying to get hired.
One commenter wrote: "The fact that he is 21 years old and willing to try this route shows he has a passion for the industry and I think it's very rude to insult him for that."
