Fighting game fans got a pleasant surprise today at Summer Game Fest 2024, when it was announced that Street Fighter 6 is getting four new characters for its second year.

The four new characters include two familiar names from the Street Fighter franchise: M. Bison and Elena. But the devs also brought in Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui from the Fatal Fury and King of Fighters franchises.

M. Bison is a classic character and the primary antagonist of the Street Fighter games, while Elena was introduced to the universe in Street Fighter 3: New Generation. Terry Bogart and Mai Shiranui, both fan-favorite characters from Fatal Fury, were met with loud cheers at Summer Game Fest. However, they will be released in a staggered format through 2025.
