Can you REALLY get in shape with VR Fitness on Quest 2?
Supernatural tries to pack everything into one fitness experience. It has photorealistic landscapes, pounding music, and daily workouts with coaches. The mixing of all these elements generally works exceptionally well to keep you moving and distracting you, to the point where you don’t even notice you’re working out.
I ran Supernatural on my Oculus Quest 2 VR headset and it proved up to the challenge of rendering all the required graphics. Whether you want to bounce around with a sturdy plastic device strapped to your face, however, is up to you.
With the coronavirus pandemic still raging, I haven’t been to the gym in almost a year. Supernatural is part of my attempt to see if I can get the same workouts I used to enjoy without paying a hefty monthly membership fee. Of course, VR fitness isn’t free either. The Oculus costs $299, plus Supernatural charges $19/month after a 30-day free trial, or $179 per year.
