After gathering invaluable player feedback during VALORANT’s console beta testing over the past few months, Riot has been fine-tuning the game to ensure a smooth, competitive experience. But apparently there wasn’t much tweaking to be done, as today the developer launched a full console release that brings the core VALORANT experience to all console players in North America, Europe, Japan, and Brazil.
VALORANT Director of Production Arnar Gylfason expressed confidence in the console version in a press release, saying that the beta period gave Riot valuable feedback to work with. "[We] are confident that we will deliver on our gameplay promise for console players," he wrote. "Whether it's landing that perfect shot, executing flawless team play, or wiping out the enemy team, we look forward to seeing console players experience the same gameplay thrills that VALORANT PC players will experience."
The news comes as a surprise, considering VALORANT’s console journey was announced less than two months ago, just days after the game’s fourth anniversary celebration at 2024’s Summer Game Fest. At the time, Riot confirmed that a limited beta would begin on June 14, giving players in the US, Canada, UK, Europe, and Japan a first taste of the console experience.
