The SYMA X5C RC Quadcopter is a very nice entry level quadcopter. It sits on the lower end of the price spectrum, and is certainly on the cheap side when it comes to materials and construction, but cautious users should have no problem keeping this drone alive long enough to get a lot of value out of their purchase.
The XC5 has a 2.4GHz controller and comes equipped with a very rudimentary camera for taking photos and video, though without the ability to remotely preview your shots you’re only hoping for the best. Overall, we had a great experience testing the X5C, but there are a few quirks and limitations worth pointing out, so we’ll make sure to take an honest look at both the good and the bad.
At 12.2 inches square, the SYMA X5C RC Quadcopter is a mid-sized drone that’s somewhat portable, but not necessarily backpack-sized. This may be a drawback for those who want to take it with them everywhere, but the slightly larger size and larger blades mean that the X5C is much more stable in the air than many other budget drones. This is especially important for beginners, who often have trouble understanding the mechanics of horizontal movement in the air.
