T-Mobile has added more areas in five U.S. states to its list of available home internet connections, bringing more internet options to nearly five million households.

Large parts of the U.S. still need fast internet access. And that’s exactly what T-Mobile is aiming to provide by expanding 5G home internet coverage to 81 additional cities and towns across the central U.S.

T-Mobile cites a study from the Greater DeMoines Partnership, which documents accessibility and affordability issues with many internet services in Iowa, as an example of its importance. Many of the homes in the report don’t have access to what the FCC classifies as high-speed internet at all. Likewise, many students (even some schools) in rural areas of Oklahoma and Missouri also don’t have high-speed internet.

With this expansion, T-Mobile claims that many of these areas will finally be able to use much faster internet than was previously available. Internet that would help businesses, students and families with work, study, communication or just sit back and enjoy some free time.
