Crossing popular IPs with MTG is fun, which is why Wizards of the Coast is taking advantage of it via Universes Beyond Secret Lair. If there was ever going to be a crossover using League champions as artwork, a fan pointed out how great the Star Guardian skins look on MTG cards. Star Guardian Zoe was chosen as the best champion to fill Elas-il-Kor’s leadership role as a commander by tuning their Elas-il-Kor Orzhov Commander deck.
Wizards and Riot have collaborated in the past via Universes Beyond Secret Lair drops with an Arcane drop that featured art clips from the hit Netflix series on popular MTG cards. Notable reprints in the drop included Path to Exile, Duress, and Rystic Study. It’s not impossible to imagine a Secret Lair drop featuring Star Guardian champion skins, or you could even do it yourself, as this Reddit player did today.
"Well that's it, you've inspired me to make a WUBRG deck with league characters," another Magic player said shortly after. "Probably Legends-matter would be reasonable to get as many characters in as possible."
