Tekken 8 did a major overhaul to its ranked system and introduced quite a few changes compared to Tekken 7. They removed the Kyu rank, so if you rank up from 2nd Dan you become a Fighter. But if you are new to the series you might be a bit confused as to what all this means and how it affects you. Don’t worry, below is a list of all the ranks in Tekken 8 as well as how the ranked system and the points they earn work.

Tekken 8's ranking system, finally explained.

Below are all the ranks in the game and the points you need to reach that rank:

Like most games, Tekken requires you to win 8 matches to earn points to rank up. However, there are a few changes to the ranking system from the previous game, most notably the removal of Kyu ranks. You also don't get demoted until you reach Warrior Rank. As such, you also lose points when you reach this division.

Also, after reaching the Garyu rank, it can become significantly more difficult to level up, as the game now requires more points before you reach each new rank. Last but not least, you can’t rematch the same opponent repeatedly, so you and your opponent only get two rematches, making it a best-of-three. After that, the game will disconnect the two and find each a new opponent.
