Nintendo Switch classic Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is getting 48 new courses, doubling the number of tracks available for frenetic, conversation-provoking cartoon races.
The Booster Course Pass gets a NEW surprise update (the ultimate physical edition)
Mario Kart is arguably Nintendo’s greatest franchise. Zelda: Breath of the Wild may be Nintendo’s – and the world’s – greatest game of all time, but the Mario Kart series is arguably the greatest multiplayer game series in history. And now it’s about to get a whole new batch of courses, eight of which will be released simultaneously over the next two years. Fans may be hoping for an all-new Mario Kart game, but who needs one when you can effectively relive the original?
"I don't think I want a completely new Mario Kart game," Vincent Caprio, editor of GamerGuyde, told Lifewire via email. "How you play is more important than what you play. Mario Kart is a super fun game. There might be some upgrades in Switch. There might be more awesome features in Wii. It doesn't matter if you play it on a small screen or a big screen. It all depends on how you play it and how you enjoy it."
If you’re not familiar with the Mario Kart games, they’re basically simple. 12 Nintendo characters race each other in small go-karts, and can collect Mario power-ups along the way. Koopa shells are missiles, mushrooms give a speed boost, stars make you invincible, and so on.
