If you want to buy Apple wireless headphones, you now have four choices. If we discount the large, over-the-ear AirPods Max, that leaves us with three models: the new AirPods 3, the AirPods Pro, and the old AirPods 2, which are still on sale for a new, lower price. How on earth do you decide which to buy?
“Here’s a hot take: AirPods 3 are a better buy than AirPods Pro,” Bloomberg gadget writer Mark Gurman said on Twitter. “1 hour more battery, 6 hours more battery life in the case, more compact case, universal fit, and $60 less than Pro. The only selling point for Pro is spotty noise cancellation — not enough of a gap.”
The new AirPods, announced alongside Apple’s new MacBook Pro in mid-October, are an improvement in most ways. You get better battery life, MagSafe and Qi inductive charging, and sweat resistance.
