Nothing beats a good action flick when it comes to getting the most out of your home theater setup. Choosing which one to watch can present its own set of challenges. Do you go for a classic action hero (Stallone, Schwarzenegger, or Van Damme) or something a little more modern and gritty? Perhaps the most famous kung fu film of all time (at least in the Western world), Ang Lee’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon more than lives up to its reputation. Visually arresting and beautifully choreographed, Lee’s film features some breathtaking fight scenes, including the iconic Bamboo Forest fight between Li Mu Bai (Chow Yun-fat) and Jen Yu (Zhang Ziyi).

Although plot is of secondary importance in a film like this, Crouching Tiger tells a surprisingly compelling story of unspoken love, extended flashbacks and revenge.

The film was one of the most critically acclaimed films of 2000, winning over 40 awards and receiving 10 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture. It won four: Best Foreign Language Film, Best Art Direction, Best Original Score, and Best Cinematography.
