Fried chicken is one of those foods that changes me. If it’s an option for dinner, I’m sure my pupils will dilate like a cat that’s spotted prey (but probably a speck of dust). I usually only enjoy the skin the first night, because the leftovers become rubbery and soggy. Luckily, there are two ways to make fried chicken crispy again—and these methods will make fried chicken even better than the first day.
The Secret to Reheating Fried Chicken
This is the better of the two methods. The crust gets deliciously crispy, so crispy you can hear someone else in the next room eating it, and the cooking time is ridiculously fast. Place the cold fried chicken in your air fryer, making sure it’s on a rack or rack that’s compatible with your appliance. Set the machine to “air fry” at 400°F and cook for 10 minutes, flipping the chicken halfway through the five minutes. It’s just as easy, and better than the original. (I’ll explain why in a moment.)
