Helldivers 2 – BIG UPDATE! Stratagem, weapon nerf and secret egg!

Helldivers 2 is no stranger to change, and constant updates are part of what keeps the game fresh. As players find ways to be more effective in certain areas, the developers will continue to smooth out the game’s rough edges. Sometimes this results in fixes that players will actually appreciate, like changes to fire damage that previously frustrated players who were just trying to have fun. Some patches also change the meta. Lately, players have discovered that showing emotions while falling reduces the damage they take, and since gamers enjoy this so much, they’re desperately hoping that Arrowhead doesn’t remove it.

Arrowhead Studios has built a reputation for being responsive to fan requests, and catering to player needs is arguably what made Helldivers 2 one of the most successful PlayStation games of all time. This seemed to backfire somewhat for the studio when PC players made it clear that they did not want their Steam accounts linked to PSN. However, that situation showed a clear willingness on Arrowhead’s part to communicate openly.

Now that players have discovered that emoting while falling from great heights reduces damage and in some cases prevents deaths, they are having a lot of fun incorporating it into their gameplay. The bug plays into the tongue-in-cheek humor that Helldivers 2 has become known for. Other players are worried that the developers will see this as a problem that needs to be fixed, since it is a bug after all. It seems that players would rather risk getting crushed themselves than deal with this bug.
