Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are planning to leave the Amazon Prime Video stage with more reluctance than a bang, according to The Grand Tour's executive producer.

Andy Wilman said the final episode featuring the Top Gear alumni will be an "unplugged", emotional affair when it premieres on Amazon Prime Video on September 13.

Speaking at the Edinburgh TV Festival, Wilman said: “They wanted to go back a bit to 2005 or 2006… leave the dynamite behind and just go [to Africa] with old junk cars.”
