That new iPad mini is the perfect device to take with you everywhere. Wouldn't it be great if you could use it to replace your iPhone?
iPad mini 6 vs iPhone 13 Pro Max – Tablet or phablet?
Unlike some Android tablets that are basically just big phones, the iPad has some weird limitations that prevent it from being used as a full-fledged iPhone replacement. You can’t make regular phone calls or receive text messages on it. It doesn’t have a Wallet app, and it can’t pair with an Apple Watch. There are ways around some of these limitations, but it’s a shame that Apple doesn’t make it possible to go solo with the iPad. Especially the fantastic new mini.
“[Apple designed] the iPhone to be a great way to communicate with friends, family, and business associates,” June Escalada, iPhone and iPad user and Photoshop instructor, told Lifewire via email. “The iPad, however, is better for getting things done. It has a larger screen with more access to apps, making it the go-to for work and play.”
An iPad is basically just a bigger iPhone. They use the same chips and run the same apps. In terms of hardware, there is a difference in size and the iPhones have better cameras. In terms of software, the differences are chosen by Apple, but they could be reversed.
