The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is almost here, and Nintendo has released a new gameplay trailer to show off what the young heroine can do.
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom – Everything You Missed in the New Trailer
Throughout her adventure, Zelda can travel to familiar Hyrule locations like the Gerudo Desert and Kakariko Village. Each of these locations is filled with side quests for the player to take on, and these locales can be reached via waypoints scattered throughout the world or via a steed that can be summoned using Zelda's echo ability. The trailer also delved deeper into Zelda's echoes, revealing two new ways they can be used to solve puzzles and defeat enemies.
The first was the Bind ability, which allows Zelda to make objects move while she’s in motion. This means Zelda can move large objects that she can’t transform into echoes, or stop enemies before they attack. The second was Reverse Bond, which allows Zelda to track the movement of another object. This ability seems to be the most useful for platforming, giving Zelda the ability to reach places she normally couldn’t thanks to the ability to latch onto objects and enemies to quickly move around the map.
Outside of these new abilities, it was also revealed that Zelda can make smoothies by combining different ingredients found throughout the world to boost her stats, and can swap out her outfits to gain different buffs depending on the situation. These stat-boosting meals and clothing, as well as the magical abilities, are meant to emphasize creativity in the same way that other recent Zelda titles like Tears of the Kingdom did by giving players multiple options for overcoming obstacles, no matter how silly or game-breaking they may be.
