The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild review
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is an action-adventure role-playing game with open world exploration. It’s beautifully designed, with graphics that look great despite the Nintendo Switch’s hardware limitations and slick controls. Fans of Zelda won’t be disappointed with this new addition to the series, and even those unfamiliar with previous Zelda games will enjoy Breath of the Wild. We picked up our Switch and explored the plot, gameplay, and graphics of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. There’s a lot to like and little to criticize.
The installation process for Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is as simple as you’d expect. If you’ve purchased the physical version of the game, simply insert the cartridge into your Switch and let it do its thing. After a brief installation, you’ll begin your game, which finds you waking up in a dark room as an amnesiac Link. Naturally, there’s no character creation.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a beautiful game, with great gameplay and so much to offer―but plot isn’t its strong suit. That’s not to say there isn’t a plot, because there is. The game opens with Link waking up to find that the kingdom of Hyrule is in danger of being invaded by Calamity Ganon. Without going into too much detail, because we don’t want to spoil anything, the premise of the game is that Link must become strong enough to help Zelda defeat Ganon for good. To do this, Link must travel throughout the kingdom and uncover its secrets and memories.
