Nintendo's Summer Direct in 2024 proved to be a huge success for Zelda fans, as the developer announced the next chapter in the franchise: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom – Everything You Missed in the New Trailer
In Echoes of Wisdom, Zelda will finally be a playable character. But fans may be wondering when exactly they can start playing the game, and thankfully the wait won’t be that long. If you haven’t finished Tears of the Kingdom yet, you don’t have to worry, as Echoes of Wisdom looks to be a refreshing respite from the Breath of the Wild storyline.
According to the game's official announcement trailer, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom's release date is September 26, 2024.
A release date wasn’t the only detail Nintendo revealed, however. The video gave us our first glimpse at Echoes of Wisdom. The game shares a similar art style to Link’s Awakening, but there are apparently new gameplay elements. One of the most notable is that players will take on the role of Zelda instead of Link, which is a change from the series’ usual conventional approach. Likewise, series producer Eiji Aonuma noted that there would be other changes “that break with convention.”
