The laptop used to be a little foldable box with a lot of sacrifices. It ran hotter, its chips were clocked slower to reduce that heat and use less battery power, and its hard drives were much slower. But now, with Apple’s Apple Silicon mobile systems, portable Macs are just as good as desktop Macs. For most people, there’s no reason to buy an iMac, a Mac mini, or even a PC unless you prefer Windows or playing games.
