GRAFT is an upcoming indie game from the makers of Shadowrun, which is good enough for me. But after seeing the trailers, I’m even more convinced that this horror-cyberpunk-RPG mashup is going to be fantastic if the developers play their cards right.
Simple question 👀
While GRAFT’s release date is unknown, we do know more about the game’s story. Your world, the Arc, is dying and your main goal is to survive. To succeed, you’ll need to evolve using Grafts, body enhancements that alter your mind and body, similar to Cyberdecks in Cyberpunk 2077. Essentially, you’ll be constantly evolving your hero by implementing new skills. How exactly that works is still not explained.
Interestingly enough, the game visually resembles Shadowrun, including an isometric view. Cyberpunk is also the main theme, although the action reminds me of twin-stick shooters. Unexpectedly, the horror atmosphere resembles Limbo and perhaps even more so Inside, with a bit of Aliens thrown in for good measure.
Since there isn't enough information about the game yet, we can only speculate about the game's mechanics, RPG elements, and especially gameplay outside of the combat zones. Developer Harebrained has promised "a dark RPG experience" and "thrilling survival horror combat," which sounds great on paper. Now all we have to do is wait.
