Assassin’s Creed Unity, Ubisoft’s 2024 open-world stealth action game, has seen a surge in players since the Paris Olympics kicked off on July 26. The increase is likely due to the fact that the Olympics are held in the same city as AC Unity, albeit a few centuries apart.

As PCGamesN noted, Unity's player base and sales have seen a boost on Steam Charts since the Olympics began. On July 26th, Unity had 729 players, but that number has been steadily climbing since then, reaching a 24-hour peak of 2,219 players (as of August 2nd)
Many gamers visit Paris to enjoy the Olympic Games, so it’s safe to assume that some will want to know what it’s like to walk across the rooftops of the city (and maybe kill a few guards)—and Assassin’s Creed Unity offers just that. Set in Paris during the French Revolution, Assassin’s Creed Unity offers a solid recreation of 18th century Paris.
AC Unity is often considered one of the weaker games in the AC series, if not the worst. The game was plagued by bugs and game-breaking issues upon launch. It was so bad that Ubisoft had to scrap plans for future DLC and gave the first (and only) one away for free to all players.
