There’s no doubt that Elden Ring and its DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, are some of FromSoftware’s greatest achievements and rank among the best Souls-like games. However, Elden Ring is missing one fan-favorite feature that many felt should have been added: boss replayability.
Shadow of the Erdtree – 13 new AWESOME DLC Secrets – Hidden Miquella & more – Elden Ring!
Unfortunately, as mentioned above, there is no easy way to replay and confront the bosses in Elden Ring. The only method is to start a new run and progress through the game to the point of the boss you want to confront again. PC players can get around this by fiddling with save files, but this isn’t a perfect solution as managing save files can be annoying. So we have to ask ourselves, should FromSoftware add the ability to replay bosses in Elden Ring?
There’s no doubt that Elden Ring, and Shadow of Erdtree in particular, should have the ability to replay bosses. While I prefer the exploration, puzzles, and discovery of the game, I completely understand the desire to confront bosses with new builds, weapons, and gear. As it stands, players are forced to create a new character or respec an existing one if they want to confront a boss again.
While many players enjoy creating new characters and starting new runs, a feature that allows players to confront the boss they want to fight and customize their gear would speed this up immensely. However, players are stuck with creating a new character and going through an entire run to confront the bosses. For those in the Shadow Realm, players will need to reach Mogh before they can jump into the DLC and confront the new bosses.
