The next Path of Exile expansion, Settlers of Kalguur, isn't releasing until July 26 (the full reveal is scheduled for July 18), but that hasn't stopped the community from getting in on the fun now.
Let's talk about the Boat League…
The teaser trailer for the 3.25 Settlers League dropped on July 5th, and it implied that this would be the infamous "boot league" that developer Grinding Gear Games has been teasing for some time now. Mind you, there's a fine line between teasing and trolling with this company, so it's entirely possible that the mechanic this time around will have virtually nothing to do with boats, like we saw with the Heist League. However, fans are going crazy over it and are not only assuming that it's going to be a boot league, but acting as if it's already out, giving each other advice on optimal boat building and the like.
"This is all very useful, but it gives no guidance on how to place my crew. Basically useless without the crew lineup," Unarchy wrote in response to the 'boat building' post, to which another user replied: "All 63 crew members, except the helmsman, ALWAYS go in the crown."
Later in the thread, Clownshoes_Exile adds some sage wisdom: "Don't let the spanker sail square. You need to jib your spanker for a lucky throw." Iwfcyb corrects them, noting, "No, no. You need to hoist your spanker first, then jib." NowicanblockWPs completes the saga by writing, "As I get older, I find it harder and harder to hoist my spanker."
