If you’re like me, you have June 39th (yes, “June 39th”) marked on your calendar after Valve set it as the date for Dota 2’s Crownfall Act Three. Sure enough, the update is here, but aside from a fighting minigame, a new treasure, and an Overworld map, Ringmaster hopefuls are in for a disappointment.
Dota 2 Crownfall Act 2 Card – Snapfire Secret Recipe – Cure All Potion Token
Valve released Crownfall Act Three, The Frosts of Icewrack, today, July 9, coinciding with Dota 2’s 11th anniversary. Like the previous two acts, the update includes a new map and story for players to explore, as well as a Collector’s Cache full of cosmetics, including rare skins for Luna, Juggernaut, and Pudge. That’s not the talk of the fandom, however, as fans are diving into a new minigame built into Dota’s latest act titled “Sleet Fighter,” which brings a Street Fighter-esque 2D fighting game to Crownfall.
The minigame is free and features five Dota heroes, each with their own movesets. From controller support to full-screen availability, Crownfall tokens, rewards to earn, and even the ability to play against friends, you'll finally be able to live out your Dota fighting game dreams.
What today's Crownfall update didn't include, however, was Ringmaster, the next confirmed hero joining Dota 2's already massive roster. Many had hoped that Valve had planned to release Ringmaster for Dota's anniversary, but once again, community expectations were a bit too high and players are left disappointed.
