Now that the Xbox Series X/S is here (almost!), it feels weird that we don’t have the benefit of a new Halo game—Halo Infinite—to enjoy at launch, as we were first promised. I’m not going to sugarcoat it. It sucks.

Big console launches deserve big game launches, and the Xbox Series X/S arguably misses out on that as Microsoft goes all out on the promise of Xbox Game Pass and the fact that everything is faster on the latest console. Put simply, the new console feels more like a PC upgrade than a uniquely revolutionary experience, but we’ve already seen how that’s OK. And honestly, it is.

Back to Halo Infinite, but I'm pretty sure it'll be worth the wait. I've seen delays in the game in the past, and they're not all bad unless you're painfully impatient.

Dedicated gamers will remember that Duke Nukem Forever took, well, forever to come out, and it wasn’t good. That was the exception to the rule, though. Generally speaking, delays in games are rewarding. A little extra time and developers can work on refining the experience.
