According to voice actor Doug Cockle, Geralt of Rivia will at least have a role in The Witcher 4 (codenamed Polaris), but he will not play the lead role in the sequel.

This came from an August 10 YouTube video on the Fall Damage channel. When the conversation turned to the next Witcher game, the voice actor revealed, "Geralt will be in the game. We just don't know how much, and the game won't be focused on Geralt, so it's not about him this time."
Although Cockle prefaced this with the usual "I can't say anything about it," the crucial bit of information regarding Geralt's appearance in The Witcher 4 will have fans in raptures.
CD Projekt Red previously said that Blood and Wine, the second and final expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, was Geralt's farewell letter. So until Cockle's leak, fans were pretty much in the dark about whether they'd ever see him in games again. Now that the cat's out of the bag, we can only wonder what kind of cat it will be.
