Call of Duty is one of the most successful entertainment franchises in history. But it's not all sunshine, rainbows and explosive action sequences.

When you release a new game every year for almost two decades, you’re bound to have some hits as well as some misses. Titles like Black Ops 2, Call of Duty 4, Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops 3 and others are remembered fondly by most. Others, not so much.

There have been several unfortunate releases in CoD history, including some recent titles and others that came out in the early days of the series. Sometimes it takes a while to realize whether a game was good or not, but other times it's immediately obvious.

Here's the very worst of the worst when it comes to the long-running and hugely successful CoD franchise. Hey, they can't all be winners, right?
