Elden Ring developers FromSoftware have heard the community's cries that Shadow of the Erdtree is too difficult and are now throwing players into trouble with improvements in Calibration Update 1.12. 2, which should improve the Scadutree upgrade system.

With Erdtree’s issues dominating all discussions about the DLC, it’s no surprise that FromSoftware decided it was time for a “calibration update,” with patch 1.12.2 going live on June 24th. With it comes a buff to Scadutree Fragments that increases the attack and damage negation it grants. According to patch 1.12.2, attack and damage negation have been increased for the first half of the maximum amount of Blessing buffs, with the latter half being more gradual. Additionally, the negation granted by the final tier of Blessing buffs has been slightly increased.

Scadutree Fragments are the new DLC-specific upgrade materials that can increase a player’s attack and defense. There are 20 levels for the Scadutree Blessings, with the player needing to collect a total of 50 Scadutree Fragments to obtain the final blessing. They can be found in various locations throughout the Land of Shadow.

Now, with the new buff, the power granted for the first 10 levels has been increased, while it decreases for the remaining 10. This should see players notice a significant increase in power, helping them take on early-game bosses a little easier. Additionally, the last available Scadutree Blessing has also been slightly buffed, helping those who are having a hard time with the later bosses.
