The PS5 may be slimmer, but Sony has added some bigger features.
PlayStation 5 – Same immersive power. New, slimmer form factor.
According to a post on the PlayStation Blog, the long-awaited PS5 Slim is coming to town just in time for the holidays. The new, thinner version of the PS5 will be available in Disc and Digital Editions, with an optional Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive for the digital model. Both flavors will come with a hefty one terabyte of storage for all those massive games.
The new PS5 features an x84-64 AMD Ryzen “Zen2”, 8-core processor and AMD Radeon RDNA 2-based graphics engine with ray tracing, and 16GB of memory. Storage has been increased to 1TB and it still supports 4K at 120Hz or 8K TVs.
With those specs, you'd expect the PS5 Slim to be a beast, but the company says: "The new PS5 has been reduced in volume by over 30% and weight by 18% and 24% respectively compared to previous models."
