If you missed the original Battlefield experience or you're just looking for a decent, free-to-play, realistic shooter to play with friends, the latest release from Tencent-backed studio Team Jade is a good option to impress you.
What is a skin tag? 😨
A remaster of the iconic Delta Force FPS series, Delta Force: Hawk Ops blends Battlefield’s warfare and class-based PvP with Escape from Tarkov’s extraction elements, and makes magic in the process. That said, while it probably sounds like something you’d love, it hasn’t officially hit the market yet. Right now, you can only try it out in the ongoing closed alpha on PC, which unfortunately isn’t easy to enter.
A veteran of video game fandom wouldn’t expect much from an alpha test version, much less a free-to-play game. Surprisingly, Hawk Ops’ closed alpha defies expectations, and in a good way.
Those who did manage to complete the Hawk Ops alpha test were amazed by the game’s immersive combat design, weapon and vehicle customization, and extensive multiplayer features. Many praised Team Jade for significantly outperforming the disastrous AAA Battlefield 2042. According to Steam Charts, Hawk Ops peaked at over 18,000 players on August 7, which is impressive for a game that’s been in limited alpha testing since August 6.
