Call of Duty has long since ditched the "mil-spec" aesthetic and is known for its bright, flashy cosmetics, but this latest season four weapon skin in CoD Mobile might just be the most insane design yet.

The CoD art team has pulled out all the stops to create The Campaign, a Mythic-grade weapon skin for the MG42 machine gun, which was introduced on April 17th as part of the Fool's Gold update. The Campaign Mythic variant is a throwback to CoD titles of old, featuring an entire battlefield based on the real-world weapon.

A battlefield on a cannon? It’s something you have to see to believe. Covered in grass, mud, and a beachhead, the top of the MG42 contains soldiers, destroyed tanks, and burning towers—a true live depiction of cannon warfare. As showcased by Leakers on Duty over on X (formerly Twitter), inspecting the cannon takes the skin to the next level; a live sequence plays showing soldiers on the hill at the end of the weapon firing, a plane dive-bombs over the barrel, and a sequence plays showing two soldiers in the middle of a firefight.
